  • What is Virtual Rec Connect?

    Virtual Rec Connect is a virtual Adult Day Program. We support individuals attending or waiting for Adult Day Services. Virtual Rec Connect is a collaboration of the Adult Day Program Providers in the Mississauga Halton Region.

  • Who can join Virtual Rec Connect?

    We serve individuals residing in the Central West Region including Mississauga and Peel, Oakville, Brampton and Milton. Eligibility requirements are determined after hitting "get started"

  • Is it suitable for people with dementia?

    Virtual Rec Connect is designed to be inclusive for anyone who would participate in a day program. Our team have experience both in person and online working with clients with many levels of dementia. We can help guide and support them

    in the environment.

  • How do I join programs?

    Our programs run virtually through Zoom on any smartphone, tablet or computer. You will receive the Zoom link to join programs once you are registered. This Zoom link never changes and is the same for all programs. 

  • What sort of programs do you offer?

    We offer a full day of programs Monday-Saturday

    including but not limited to socials, exercises, trivia, card and dice games, music and so much more! We even have live entertainment and special guests.

  • Is there a fee for this program?

    No- There is no fee to our program!

  • What other services do you offer?

    We provide participants with activity packages that include materials used for groups and other at home activities. Further, we offer One-to-One services that included weekly personalized programming with one of our team members. 

  • Do I have to quit Virtual Rec Connect when I go to a program in person?

    You do not have to quit Virtual Rec Connect once you begin attending an in-person program. You can continue attending virtual programs for as long as you would like. 

  • Do I have to join every single program offered?

    No, the choice in programs is entirely yours. You can join one program a day or once a week, it is your choice! 

  • How many people join each program?

    Group sizes vary depending on the program. Some of the programs (such as exercise) are larger (10-12 people), and others are smaller (social conversations etc.). Our team will split the group up as appropriate. 

  • What do activities have to do with wellbeing?

    We believe activities enhance the wellbeing of our participants by providing a sense of purpose and passion, and improve quality of life through meaningful leisure. We use our participants' strengths and interests to develop programming to support goals set by our participants such as increasing strength and physical health, maintaining memory, and supporting emotional regulation.
